This is a photo taken from a hot-air balloon of the Nascar Bristol Speedway.  The location is Bristol, TN/VA.  The time was about 7 PM, just before the start of the fall race.

The structure of this barn, with the top overhanging the bottom, is only found in east TN.  I know of only five left that were built this way.  This one is located in Cade's Cove, TN.

In TN years ago, farmers would make a deal with a company to get their barns painted "free."  In the latter years, this practice has dropped by the wayside.  This barn was painted over 30 years ago.

The location of this 100 feet long bridge is in Elizabethton, TN.  This bridge was built at the turn of the 20th century and has withstood several savage floods that have swept the town away.

If only this old rocking chair could talk!  What stories it could tell.  This scene was taken in Mt. Rogers in Virginia late in the morning.  We wonder how long it has been since this chair was used on a regular basis.
