This scene is at the base of Mount Mitchell along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It was raining at the time this scene was recorded in the late
afternoon.

different weeks trying to get this exact shot when the leaves were in their prime and a cloudy day.  It was
cold the day we got this shot.

The colors in these leaves are typical of the colors found in most of our trees in our magnificent mountains of the Blue Ridge and Appalachians.  It had been raining just before this scene was shot.
